Creation of a satelite caused by impact
From a lot of planetesimals, some 7 billion years ago after the Sun had shone for the first time, the first Earth was created. In that period of evolution, the ancestor planet was smaller than the Earth we know today. 4,5 billion years ago, a celestial body the size of Mars ran into this Earth by acciden. It tore away large parts of Earths surface, that had been turned to steam by the released heat, along side with the parts of this unknown body. Newly made gas formed into a cloud and started orbiting Earth. Soon the unconnected matter densed into a searing lump, the Moon, which had firstly orbited the Earth at a distance of 20.000 kilometers, and later continued distancing from it. Today, the average distance between Moon and Earth is 384.400 kilometers. Yes, a new space wallpaper after a looong time Made in PSCS2. Comments, critics and favs always appreciated !! Daily DeviationGiven 2008-01-05Creation Of The Moon by ~goran-d is an awesome space wallpaper, complete with precise detail and great contrast. The lighting is unreal and the scene ,as a whole, is outstanding. (Suggested by `baKIN and Featured by ^archanN) |

I find it very interesting that you also added a little background information on the creation of this earth and the 2 previous earth environments. That is the first thing that came to my mind when I saw your artwork. Which leads to my next questions.. what helped you create such a realistic and inspirational artwork? Did you picture it in your mind's eye before you created it, or did you look else where for ideas? w/b.
BTW.. any one sill wondering about the creation of 3 earths and how this all came to be check out this page: [link]
